Kara Macek directs the operations and strategic direction of the communications and programs functions for GHSA. She serves as the Association’s chief communications officer, developing and executing a broad communications strategy to provide visibility to GHSA’s policies, activities, and members. She manages all print and electronic publications and oversees the organization’s web content and social media channels. In addition, Macek manages numerous federal and private sector grant programs for GHSA across a broad spectrum of highway safety issues.

Macek has nearly 20 years of experience in the association industry and has worked for GHSA since 2007. Prior to GHSA, she served as webmaster and special projects associate for the National Council of State Housing Agencies (NCSHA) and as a project manager for a website company specializing in the association community.
